Job Purpose:

With the appropriate on the job training, supervision and guidance, provide efficient and effective administrative support to Human Resources and Payroll Team and to ensure service users are provided with key information on HR processes and procedures.

Core Accountabilities:

• Provide administrative support to HR team.
• Support the HR team in the achievement of the LGA’s priorities and objectives.
• Support the team in the delivery of its objectives demonstrating a ‘can do’ attitude and adopting a flexible and resourceful approach.
• Undertake all responsibilities with due regard to the LGA’s policies and practices for Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Environmental.
• Participate in relevant LGA projects that support the delivery of the LGA Business Plan.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post

Specific Accountabilities:

• Understand how to assist in the provision of business support to the HR Team including day to day tasks such as document creation, using excel spreadsheets, room bookings and distribution of information.
• Act, alongside the HR Assistant, as a first point of contact for enquiries, and respond to or refer enquiries as appropriate.
• Assist in maintaining and updating organizational structure charts.
• Assist in processing payroll changes, liaising with line managers for information and making relevant changes to employee records
• Assist in the administration of the recruitment, selection and induction processes, including liaising with candidates.
• Assist in administering the starter, leaver and changes process on behalf of Corporate Services to ensure all teams have accurate and relevant information.
• Support Learning and Development events.
• Act as an effective team member providing assistance to others as requested.
• To be aware of policies and procedures and act according to them
• Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required commensurate with the level of the post.
